Welcome to the Maryland State Society
Founded in 1924, The Maryland State
Society of Washington, DC serves as a social and civic organization
that celebrates the culture, history, traditions, and people
of each respective state through outstanding events. These
events include, the National Cherry Blossom Festival, Presidential
Inaugural events, and Congressional Receptions. State society
organizations are non-partisan and bring together people from
all walks of life; such as Members of Congress, both federal
and state; military staff; business leaders; actively social
families; retired people – all through fellowship and
goodwill.
Maryland is one of the oldest state societies, founded in
April of 1924 and is a member of the National Conference of
State Societies. Our social calendar will be highlighted with
annual events that include our Annual Meeting in June, a Crab
Pickin’ in the Fall, and the Maryland Cherry Blossom
Princess Reception in April. In the coming months and years,
we would like to include brunches, picnics, educational programs,
and congressional seminars.
Membership
is open to anyone who wishes to devote him or herself to Maryland
interests as set forth in the Mission
Statement.
